Our History
From high-caliber artist collaborations to an unforgettable Super Bowl LIV performance, Vocal Youth Miami has been bringing together students from across Miami-Dade County since 2011 through the power of music — not only to sing, but to connect, express, and lead. Our singers learn to listen deeply, lift one another up, and create something greater together than they could alone. Through this work, young people grow more whole and grounded in who they are — ready to make their mark on the world.
Vocal Youth choristers have had incredible performance opportunities, including a live international television appearance on Univision’s Despierta América; national anthem performances for the Miami Marlins, Miami Heat, and Formula E race; an unforgettable debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City; and participation in the Crescent City Children’s Choir Festival in New Orleans. In 2020, members of Vocal Youth represented Miami at Super Bowl LIV with a pre-game performance of “America the Beautiful” alongside Yolanda Adams. The organization has also collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artists such as Enrique Iglesias and Julian Marley. In 2024, Vocal Youth Miami was honored with the Exemplary Model Music Program Award by the Florida Music Educators Association.
